Thanks everyone for the great comments on last night's post about my adventure to develop an application for artificial intelligence transcription. I am excited about this, and I will post developments as I have them. The next one will probably be tomorrow night.
For reading, I started listening to an audiobook by my favorite comedian Sinbad. Sinbad is one of the greats and he is underrated. He's a clean comedian, which is rare in this day and age. I found out on Twitter that he had suffered a stroke back in 2020 and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. I was pleased to discover that he recorded an audiobook in 1997 about how to live your life. I bought it immediately and started listening. It is, of course, narrated by Sinbad himself.
If you ever get a chance, look up some of Sinbad's comedy specials sometime. He's a different kind of comedian, one who style is very much out of vogue today, but I hope comes back.
For data analysis, I've talked enough about my transcription project, so that's that. I also finished up crunching my numbers for my accountant. Booo…but necessary.
For marketing, I developed new business cards today, something I haven't done since 2017. I got caught at the last writing conference I went to without business cards, which was embarrassing. I have rectified that.
I also booked two speaking engagements today. I'll be speaking at the Caribbean Authorpreneur Live Summit in January, an event centered on helping Caribbean authors harness the power of self-publishing. It's put on by C. Ruth Taylor, who is a Jamaican authorpreneur and she is doing some great things for authors in her region. I'm really looking forward to learning more about publishing in the Caribbean. The conference will be January 20-21.
I also booked another engagement that I cannot talk about yet, but it should be a good time. Next year is already filling up pretty quickly.
For production, I hit my quota today and then some. I should be sitting at about 3500 words when the night is over, which is a beautiful thing. I am working on a short story that I hope to finish tomorrow or Wednesday. I am still on track with the Ray Bradbury challenge and have produced a short story per week on average since the beginning of September.
Anyway, that's my update for tonight. I hope that you have a great night.
