Good day today, and I hope to be on the rebound.

I spent a lot of time taking a writing craft course—Writers of the Future. It’s a free course that has a lot of good info in it, taught by Orson Scott Card, Tim Powers, and Dave Farland. I highly recommend it. It’s surprisingly longer than I expected, which is really cool for a free course. All of the instructors said great things but I especially liked Tim Powers’s advice.

No data analysis work yet but I expect my programmer to be done any day now with my sales macro updates so I’ll have to test them.

For marketing, I did two podcast interviews today. First, I spoke with Matty Dalrymple and Jennifer Hilt about end of year planning on The Indy Author Podcast. Jennifer and I were guests. If you don’t know Jennifer, she writes the “Trope Thesaurus” books that are wildly popular among writers. Great talk.

Second, I spoke with Mark Leslie Lefebvre on his Stark Reflections Podcast. We covered a range of topics, but mostly productivity and how to be more productive as a writer. I always love talking with Mark and it’s the first chance we connected since I met him in person in 2018 at 20Books Vegas.

For production, I fell just short of my quota, but I’m sitting at around 2500 words which is pretty darn close.

ANOTHER ANNOUNCEMENT

I can finally announce this—I’ve been sitting on it for a while.

February 8-11, 2023, I’ll be speaking at the Superstars Writing Seminar in Colorado Springs, CO. It’s run by Kevin J. Anderson of Wordier Press.

I’m super excited about this one—a lot of amazing people will be there—Joanna Penn, Dave Chesson, Jim Butcher, Dean Wesley Smith, Kevin J. Anderson, Hugh Howey, Mal Cooper, Mark Leslie, Jonathan Maberry, and more. Kind of crazy that I’ll be speaking alongside them!

If you’re in Colorado and will be attending, I’d love to meet you so please let me know. This promises to be a very craft and business-intensive event, so I have a feeling I’ll learn a lot from it since a lot of pros will be there, and I’m sure that will be the case for attendees as well. If anyone’s interested, you can sign up through my link here: https://www.authorlevelup.com/superstars

Anyhoo, I’ll have another announcement about another conference I’m speaking at in December—it will be overseas. Can’t quite announce it yet as it’s not 100% set in stone but hopefully will get the green light by end of this week.

Anyway, have a great night.
