I finally had my first true R.A.M.P. day in a while. These last few weeks have been crazy.
For reading, I have been making progress in John Grisham’s newest book, The Boys from Biloxi. Not quite sure how I feel about it, but the writing is good.
For data analysis, no work in that area today.
For marketing, I took advantage of Google Play’s new Series Bundle Discount feature. I got all my series loaded into it. You get a 10% discount once you buy 3 books, and 15% once you buy more than 6. Pretty cool, but it now makes box sets of the same series irrelevant. I’m waiting to see how well the feature “looks” on sales pages, but I’m thinking I’ll retire my box sets on Google Play. Currently, readers get around an 8% discount if they buy the box sets versus buying the books individually. The math isn’t clean so I’d prefer that they only have one choice, and I’d prefer Google do the selling since they have the data and hopefully will optimize the experience.
Google’s really introducing some great features lately. Let’s hope they keep it up.
For production, oh boy…I’m waaaay behind on my plan. I’m now in the negative. I’ve got lots of catching up to do. Not insurmountable, but boy, it’s going to be difficult. The numbers are below and they speak for themselves.
I did write a blog article for ALLi today so my number isn’t zero, but yeah, these numbers aren’t pretty now.
But that’s how things go. Few people can be machines every single day. We all fall down. What matters is how you get back up. And for me, that starts tomorrow.
