So-so day today. I’m still trying to get into the swing of things again.
For reading, I continued Vol. 5 of IDW’s TMNT. I may take a small break after this one to read a book I bought today that arrived in the mail. The book is on African Mythology, specifically Nigerian mythology, which I have always been fascinated by. Looking forward to reading it.
For data analysis, I crunched the numbers on my Facebook ads. I made a slight loss on The Dream Mage, very slight. I think I need to spice up the sales copy. That will help me improve my conversion. If I can get this series profitable, that will be two out of my three UF series earning a profit every month. Very, very cool.
For marketing, I appeared on The Story Craft Cafe Podcast with Hank Garner tonight. The podcast is run by the Dabble Writer team—yea, THAT Dabble, the writing app. Hank and I chatted about productivity and my approach to writing fiction. We talked about some stuff I haven’t talked about before, particularly around how I create characters. Here is the link to the video: https://youtu.be/Fn5D_l9HVqg
I also planned a potential cross promo with a fellow UF author and got the paperwork taken care of for another promo I’m doing on Black Friday (Info Stack—you guys always love their sales, so I’m pleased to be doing one again).
For production, I had another weak day today. Had some personal circumstances intervene. Nothing bad, but definitely distracting. I’ll hit this novel again tomorrow.
I just need some momentum. Once I can get that, the novel should fall pretty quickly. I’m somewhere around 60K, and I think it will end somewhere before or at 65K.
Anyway, enjoy the video with me and Hank: https://youtu.be/Fn5D_l9HVqg
