Another knockout day today. More on that in a moment.
For reading, I continued Vol. 7 in IDW’s TMNT.
For data analysis, my developer sent back the macro I talked about last week and he KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK. I’m blown away that he was able to program it exactly as I requested.
Now I can FLY with my dictation and transcription. The only downside to today is that the developer sent me the macro AFTER I finished writing today. I’ll put it into practical use tomorrow.
For marketing, I wrote the book description for Year of the Rat. I dislike writing book descriptions for final books in series. My theory is that readers don’t read them, but you can’t phone it in because if they do…then you are missing sales opportunities. So I gave this one just as much time as I did Book 1 in the series. That feels like the right level of effort to ensure I am doing it correctly.
For production, I did 3,000 words today. I finished Indie Author Confidential Vol. 10 and prepped it for my copyeditor. It’s officially done and I will send it to her once she finishes Year of the Rat, which will be sometime around the middle of the week.
I will have some speed bumps in the coming week because of two things. First, I am speaking at a Writer’s Digest virtual event this weekend, so I have to prepare. Second, I will be getting Year of the Rat back from my copyeditor, so I will have to review her edits so I can prepare the manuscript for my proofreader. Since this is an 80K novel, I expect it will take me a little longer than usual.
Also, thank you to every who voted on the next Beast Mode book. And the winner is….the R.A.M.P. book!!!
I started planning it today and will start writing either tomorrow or Monday. I am reserving the right to alter the concept just a little bit so I can flesh it out, but R.A.M.P. will definitely be in it (and how to choose your own productivity elements). So far, the idea is to make this more of a productivity book.
Anyhoo, I’m off to do some planning. Beast Mode continues! Have a good night.
