I’m on the Creative Penn this week. 🙂 Link below.
Yesterday and today really got away from me. That’s the reality of writing life. Sometimes, life just hits you and you’ve got to roll with it. I’m glad it happened between books so it didn’t really slow my momentum down that much. 🙂
For reading, I read The Art of War by Sun Tzu. A mentor asked me to read this book a few years ago and I enjoyed it a lot. I reread it again as my nonfiction book for the week. Now, I will choose whether jumping back to IDW’s TMNT comic or if I want to read something else. I love having options and being between books.
For data analysis, no work in that area today. I did enough of that with reviewing my edits for Year of the Rat a few days ago, so I’m good in that area for a few days.
For marketing, I got some feedback on my book description for Year of the Rat from someone I trust—they gave me some good feedback to make it a bit stronger. I also received the illustration for the cover, which I approved. The next and final phase is to add typography, which should be done sometime in the next week or tow.
ALSO, I’m on the Creative Penn. Joanna and I talked about estate planning for authors. A vital and very fun topic, though not the sexiest in the world. Joanna and I made it fun. Listen here on YouTube: https://youtu.be/zQ2Wk60CKnU
I am on another podcast this week—I’ll share that link tomorrow—The Indy Author Podcast with Matty Dalrymple.
I booked another podcast interview today as well and spent quite a bit of time preparing for a speaking engagement this weekend—Writer’s Digest virtual Science Fiction & Fantasy writing conference. I’ll be giving a talk on lessons learned after a decade as a writer.
Anyway, LOTS of fun marketing stuff today.
For production, I am ready to write my next book, which will be on productivity/RAMP/maximizing your productivity. I just need to start, which will either be later tonight or tomorrow.
Anyhoo, have a great night.
