Solid day today, but I had a lot going on.
I’m still off the reading wagon…
For data analysis, no work needed today.
For marketing, I wrote my next newsletter which will go live Oct. 2ish.
I also landed another speaking event in November re: Be a Writing Machine. Should be fun.
Most importantly, I did a joint webinar with Chris Locke at the Independent Book Publishers Associations (IBPA) on Self-Publishing Basics. It was 2 hours long and boy, was I tired. But we got lots of questions and it was very satisfying at the end.
I also received the final cover for Year of the Rat and the Chicago Rat Shifter trilogy.
Covers are below.
I also connected with my narrator for Be a Writing Machine and How to Write Your First Novel. He’s onboard to record the audiobook for my productivity book starting in mid-October. Should be done by Thanksgiving. Really looking forward to unveiling this one. I drafted a contract and got it over to him today. Should be set by end of the week.
For production, I’m sitting at 3800 words today, which I’m stunned I had that many given my speaking engagement today. But hey, I’ll take it.
My new lavalier microphone finally arrived today, and it’s a winner. Very good accuracy. The first two tests were outstanding. It “hears” me a little differently and produces unique errors with Dragon, but nothing that a find and replace array macro can’t fix.
I found myself writing toward a lot of stuff today: Indie Author Confidential Vol. 10, my secret book, and a new short story. Yikes. But hey, I had to get my quota, so you gotta do what you gotta do. I also ended the day “clean”, meaning I edited all the words I wrote. That means I can start fresh tomorrow.
Wow, a lot going on today. That’s just how it goes sometimes.
