This is a terrible year for losing writers. I heard about the passing of bestselling author Rachel Caine yesterday. RIP, Rachel.

THE DAY TODAY

With the election going on, I made a decision to get all my writing work done early, as I expect to be up quite late watching the returns.

Woke up early today, got in about 20 minutes of exercise (miracle), and even wrote 600 words of fiction before it was time to log in to work. That is the definition of a good morning.

Also did some marketing studies.

LESSON LEARNED:

Focus on the pain or unfulfilled desire of the customer. Very basic but if you think about it, many products fall into this, especially books. This idea has me thinking about my new book descriptions that I want to write.

LESSON EXECUTED: None today. Hopefully will have some movement tomorrow or Thursday.

Have a good night everyone, and talk to you tomorrow.

MARKETING PARKING LOT (oh boy, it’s growing):

  • Clean up old lead magnet links and redirect them. ROI: Could add a few more subscribers to my list per year.
  • Convert unnecessary links in my nonfiction to footnotes to improve “reader stickiness.”
  • Zero in on any broken links and redirect them. ROI: Improves user experience on my website.
