I was supposed to get these books off to my designer…but nope.
Woke up this morning and discovered that raccoons had torn up my new sod. The worst part is that the roots were about 90% established. I think I can save it, but…that derailed my day. Not to mention some other issues with local utilities in my neighborhood. Spent the day fighting a war in my lawn and on the telephone with bad customer service.
In any case, I’ve got a surprise for the raccoons tonight that will make them reconsider coming to my yard, at least for a month or so. Nothing lethal or scary, of course. I’m not supportive of killing wild animals because everything had a role in our ecosystem. But man, these raccoons came at the worst possible time…reminds me of that scene from the movie the Great Outdoors where the raccoons show up and mock the humans while they dig through their trash…
“Hey look, gang I bet there are tons of worms under here!”
“Wait til we see the look on the homeowners’ face in the morning!”
“Hey, he’s even got a security camera. Let’s take a selfie!”
Yep, I got it all on camera.
But anyway, no writing and no progress tonight.
If there’s any silver lining, this story did end up in my idea book, so even though my day was derailed, i got a good story out of it, so I’d call that a win, friends.
I appreciate all the kind comments around Beast Mode last night. I’m pumped!!!
