2000 Words. I spoke at Virtuous Con today and gave a demo on Scrivener. It was a great session, and very cool to see so many people of color and blerds in the (virtual) audience. Hopefully it will grow my audience.

I got 250+ Writing Tips Vol. 2 off to my editor, with a deadline of end of the week.

I also made more progress on Indie Author Confidential Vol. 6. After Vol. 7, I am shifting the series to annually (maybe twice a year) to give me some more time back. I feel like I’m always working on it, which I enjoy, but I am ready to start some new projects too.

I also contracted with a designer to create images for future volumes of the Indie Author Confidential series. I am running out of stock photos to use. He is designing five icons for me. This will get me to Volume 10, which will be sometime around 2023 or 2024. That’s a nice long time to have a continuous series with covers that all match. In 2023 if I’m still writing it, I’ll have more icons designed, or I may rebrand. We’ll see. I just wanted to give myself some options, and this is a profitable year for me so I preferred to do it now.

I also started talks with a developer to help me with another automation project, this time around helping me manage my books across retailers. It’s very boring and technical and won’t apply to most unless you have at least 5 books published. I probably won’t talk about it much until it’s got some legs under it—I know some of you will find it interesting but this is one of those “only Michael La Ronn talks about this” kind of things.

I also cleaned up my website. Had some broken widgets so tried to fix those. I need to do a deep clean of my website. That’ll probably happen either before or after Beast Mode.

RACCOON UPDATE

The raccoons returned last night….they dug up a few unprotected corners of sod, but otherwise, my strategy is holding. I’ll be in the clear in a couple of days. The sod is pretty much glued down at this point. Anything they pulled up probably wasn’t going to survive anyway.

Another battle won!!!
