500ish words today. The votes are in: my next book will be…Rat City (The Chicago Rat Shifter, Book 2!)

Thanks everyone for voting. Beast Mode now transitions to novels!!!

Here was the scoreboard in order of votes:

  • Rat City (The Chicago Rat Shifter Book 2)
  • Cold Hard Magic (The Good Necromancer Book 2)
  • The Writer’s Guide to Strategy
  • The Writer’s Guide to Dictation
  • The Writing Craft Playbook Vol. 2

Y’all really wanted me to write a novel!

For the next round of votes, I’ll keep the ones above and add a new one to the list.

Rat City will be interesting because I’m halfway through the novel but walked away from it earlier this year. I’ll need to review what I wrote and pick up from there.

I spent the entirety of today (on the go) and reviewing my words for the writing app book. I’m done but I’m not actually done. Next week I have to do some “photography” to capture screenshots and such and that will inevitably lead to more revisions and probably a few new sections I didn’t think of. But this one is mostly done.

I also had some more dialogue with my developer on the writing app tool. It’s coming along.

I will start Rat City tomorrow, but I have a challenge: I’ve got to get up to speed with what I wrote because I completely forgot! Tomorrow will be the day I do that, and I have a busy busy weekend so I fully expect that I’ll have to ease into this one. But I’d like to do it quickly. If I can hit 500 words tomorrow and 1000 the day after, I’ll be in a great spot come Sunday. But we’ll see.

Since this novel is already halfway written and Book 1 was around 50K, I expect that this one will be in the same ballpark. That means I’ve got about 25K to knock out.

Anyway, a great way to start the weekend—done with one book and onto another. Have a good night.
