3200 words. I did another 500 before bed last night which was a good feeling. The novel is sitting at 35K right now.
I’m rolling along at a steady clip. I’m pleasantly surprised at the pace this is moving along. The story took a plot twist today that I didn’t expect and that made the words easier.
If this novel is around 50K, then I just crossed the 70% mark. I’m just keeping my head down and putting in the work. If I keep that up, I’ll be in a very, very good spot soon.
I don’t know what the “glimmer” is yet, but I did see a good sign today: I know exactly how Book 3 is going to start. Lester does something in Book 2 that he’ll repeat in Chapter 3. So that’s a positive sign. To give you a contrasting perspective, I have zero idea how my Rat Shifter Book 3 will begin. LOL
I received Rat City back from my copyeditor tonight. I’ll share more on that once I’ve had a chance to get through it, probably starting tomorrow. But from what I could tell, the number of edits I received was on par with prior novels, which means my editing workflow worked quite well.
I also took a sales call from an interested third party regarding one of my books. We inked a pretty cool deal that I’ll hopefully be able to share in the coming weeks. I licensed a right that I’ve never licensed before, so I’m intrigued at how this will go.
Anyway, I’ve got some outlining to do. Have a good night.
