2000 words today, though I’m not finished.

Thanks for everyone who voted on my next Beast Mode book. That book will be…How to Write Without an Outline!

Wow, y’all surprised me. At first Book 3 of my Rat Shifter series was winning, and then How to Write Without an Outline came in like a freight train at the last minute!

I’m looking forward to this one, mainly because you all have been asking for more writing into the dark content for a long time. I have some unique ideas that will make this one more helpful.

Also, I should probably let you know that if you were one of the people who voted for the other books (Dictation, Strategy, etc), don’t worry. They’ll remain on the voting block and I may not add any additional books after the outline one so that I can clear the field. Either way, the books will be written very soon. Everything you see on the voting list, I’m committed to writing next. You all determine the order, that’s all.

Anyhoo, I need to finish my current novel first, and I’m doing quite well. I hit 2,042 words this evening and met my quota for tonight, but I’m going to try to write some more.

Some basic math:

  • The novel is sitting at around 45,000 words right now.
  • If I write around 500-1000 words tonight, that means that I’ll have about 4,000 words remaining when I start tomorrow. I can do 4000 words in one day if I’m inspired, but we’ll see.

For sure, I’ll finish the book this weekend. I’ve got my power hour tomorrow and I plan on waking up a little earlier before the power hour to get at least one writing session in. Hopefully I’ll hit my 2,000 word during the power hour, and then I have the rest of the day to get down another 2,000, and in theory, the end.

Once I finish, I’ll quickly revert to more words on Indie Author Confidential Vol. 7 to keep hitting my quotas. Then I’ll do a final loop of Cold Hard Magic before shipping it off to my editor. I told her I’d have a lot of books for her soon. LOL

That means I should be able to start the How to Write Without an Outline book early next week. My writing books are usually around 20,000 words and I write them quickly, so I could likely finish within a week. It wouldn’t surprise me if this one goes quickly.

Oh, and because someone asked: my Rat Shifter series is not published yet. I’m holding onto Book 1 until Book 2 is ready. However, I’ll be opening up the first book to advanced readers. If you’re interested in getting an advanced copy, write me. I’ll also start taking a list in the next few days.

Don’t forget about my power hour tomorrow: 10AM Central standard time if you want to get some words in!

Have a great night.
