5200 words today. The Writing Novel Without an Outline Book is off to a great start. I don’t know how long it will be, but it’s sitting at about 6000 words right now.
This book is going pretty well because I’m well-versed in the topic. And, I have an outline (and trust me, the irony of outlining a book about writing novels without outlines is not lost on me…but nonfiction is a different animal.)
I also settled on a name for it as well as did some research into what should be on the cover. This is a tough one, but I’ll figure it out. I have an interesting idea that hopefully will work. I also firmed up the book description last night, which helped me with branding and positioning.
I’ve got a lot of evening left, but I need to do some work on my speech for Saturday. 5200 words is not a bad place to pack up for the night.
I realized that overall for my Beast Mode challenge, I’m sitting at approximately 110,000 words for the challenge since I started on July 1st. (The total word count of all the books is actually 160,000 but both of the novels I wrote already had 25,000 words each so I subtracted that). To put this number in context, in August 2020 alone I wrote 110,000 words. So I’m a little behind this year, but it’s still a pretty darn good number. The fiction is slowing me down somewhat, but the upside is that I have bigger books to show for it, so it’s all relative.
Have a great night.
