Another good day today.
No reading or data analysis unfortunately.
For marketing, I designed some new book covers. All tests, all fake, but I am learning InDesign and basic design stuff. I’m surprised at how quickly I was able to put a few covers together. They’re pretty terrible, but I at least am familiar with the software now. Now, it’s just about figuring out how to do things like making typography look professional and avoiding stuff that amateur cover artists do.
I also played around with MidJourney and got some really good results. Next step is to figure out how to optimize MidJourney for book covers. I’ve got it so it can give me really good art, but the biggest problem I’m experiencing right now is generating art that leaves enough space at the top so I can put my author name. Hopefully I can figure that out in the next week or so.
For production, I’m under quota but given my cover escapades today, that’s okay. I’m going to call today a good day.
