I had a killer day today. I know I say that a lot, but today really was killer.
I continued my reading of IDW's TMNT.
I didn't have to do any data analysis today.
For marketing, I received a rejection (yay!), So I took that story and submitted it promptly to another magazine market. Problem solved. That tool I built earlier this week really came in handy today. The key is not to worry so much about rejections and simply send the story to another market as soon as possible.
For marketing, I also landed another potential speaking engagement (in person) and a podcast interview.
Also, folks, DALL-e 2 is now available to the public. DALL-e is a competitor to MidJourney and Stable Diffusion. Things are heating up really quickly in the AI art space. I played around and tested it out. It’s definitely a different tool than MidJourney. Not sure if it’s better or worse yet.
But yeah, if you’re sleeping on AI art, wake up. This is a watershed moment in the history of all creatives. This is going to impact every author, everywhere. It’s already affecting you but you may not realize it yet…
Anyway…
I also finished the short story I was working on. The original title was “Tomorrow Never Comes When You're Glamping.” The story is about a heroine and her boyfriend who go on a camping trip with her father. The trip is “the trip” where her boyfriend is going to ask her father for permission to marry. But then, something strange happens.
Turns out that glamping really had little to do with the story other than the first 400 words, so I changed the title to “The Trip.” This was a weird little story, but it has a happy ending.
For production, I am below my quota but I finished the story and also hit my weekly quota for my challenge, so I'm fine eating into my surplus tonight. Plus, I need to get ready for the power hour tomorrow as well as do some work on some book covers.
I also added my blog posts to my word count, and that gave me a nice bump to end September. All in all, I wrote 101,000 words this month. Killer September, and living proof that Beast Mode is in full swing, friends!
With that, don't forget about the power hour, folks. See you tomorrow.
