Everybody knows IQ, many people know EQ, but what about PQ?

I’m not talking about Ps and Qs or manners…

PQ stands for persistence quotient. I came across the term in a theology book I’m reading. I’ve never read a theology book before, but a friend recommended it.

In Christian terms, PQ is how hard and often you’re willing to pray for something in order to make it happen.

But I think that you can just as easily apply this to any area of your life. How hard are you willing to work? How many books will you write before quitting? How much money, time, and energy will you throw at this profession to be successful?

IQ=your intelligence

EQ=your emotional intelligence—vitally required for writers because most of us don’t have it naturally

PQ=how hard you’re willing to work/pray/defend your dream

Whether you’re religious or not, it’s hard to argue that we simply have to ask for what we want in life. Sometimes we may not get the answer we want, and sometimes the answer may not come for years, if ever.

But persistence is what separates long-term successful people from unsuccessful ones.
