714 words today. Yesterday was so exhausting that I hijacked my schedule by sleeping in. I did this knowing that I’d spend the rest of the day catching up…and that’s exactly what I did, unfortunately. But I had to take care of myself.

I also threw my back out…so I’m walking around like Quasimodo right now, but that didn’t stop me from:

  1. Writing a guest blog post (1000 words). Excited to share that when it comes out.
  2. Conducting an hour-long live Twitter Chat with The Alliance of Independent Authors to promote my book, Mental Models for Writers. I’ll share when the summary goes out.
  3. Watched video of my GDEX talk and provided feedback to my video editor. I’m all set to deliver the final video tomorrow morning, right on time.
  4. Recorded 2 weeks’ worth of Writing Tip of the Day.
  5. Wrote 704 words toward Project Author Income (which would have been 1700 but for the guest blog post I wrote—just keeping it real). I’ll have another writing session after I publish this so my real number will probably be close to 1000, which is right where I want to be for the rest of this book.
  6. Achieved and remained at inbox zero all day (HI-YA!).
  7. Wrote this blog post.

I’m taking a pill and getting some more rest. My day will be hijacked tomorrow too, but I set goals tonight so things should be more manageable.

Some days, life hits you. Sometimes, you have to lay on the mat and get your bearings—when it hits you really hard, that’s the right thing to do. Other times, you have to hit back and push through the pain. Today was a push day.

Have a good night, everyone.
