2,848 words today. Hi-yah!
Much better day today, though I did NOT wake up early today (fail, but not really). Focused on my primary goal, though I still didn’t get my business income logged. When you read the rest of this chapter, you’ll see why.
I recorded this week’s Writer’s Journey and Writing Tip of the Day up to Thanksgiving. My goal is to record all of Writing Tip of the Day for 2020 by end of this week so I can get it locked and loaded.
I also received the cover for Project Constitution back from my designer, which was awesome. I immediately added the cover to my Vellum file, exported, and published the book wide. It’s already showing up some places but I’ll make an official announcement tomorrow (search for it if you dare). My patrons at Patreon received the book this evening.
Project Author Income is almost done. This has been such a wandering book, but it stopped wandering today. I knew it about 8PM tonight when I started writing chapters linearly again. I’m in a dash to the finish line now. I surpassed 15,000 words today so had to amend the word count estimate slightly. It’ll probably end up somewhere short of 20,000. I’m on track to finish it tomorrow or Thursday for sure.
Tomorrow, I’ll be receiving some more illustrations for Project Atlas. The designer is about halfway done. I want to pull the trigger on the cover, but I need to wait a bit longer. The print version right now is right at 180 pages. Because of the way KDP Print spines work, the cutoff for different dimensions are at the 0 integer. This means if I am over or under even one page, the entire paperback manuscript will have to be redone. If it was 185 pages I’d have more wiggle room. But I have to give the designer the exact page count.
Next up: I need to format Indie Author Confidential Vol. 2 so I can get it off to my cover. I may do that tomorrow if I have time. I also need to do a final review of Project Bestiary. Lot of beast mode work to do still, and I’m not taking any days off to do the admin stuff, so I have to make it work. None of these items need to be done tomorrow, so I’ve got time.
I will be traveling next week so that will be a new plot twist in the beast mode work!!! Can I continue my “beast mode” while writing exclusively on my phone? We shall see…challenge accepted!!!
I have a feeling my business income task is going to keep getting kicked down the road until I’ve got a few more books published. Yay goal setting! Getting out the product is more important when it’s this close to the finish line. I can always catch up on sales reports on a quiet Sunday morning, no problem.
