First batch of my YouTube gear arrived today. It’s all set up but I had some issues with some of the settings that I’ll try to fix tomorrow. The final part of the shipment arrives tomorrow, though I may need to order a few additional things that will arrive Friday or Saturday. So far so good, but I just have to fix things one at a time.
Also, one of my followers, Marissa Garcia, featured me in a blog article of her favorite YouTuber. Her words very kind and she’s got an amazing list of folks. Check it out here: https://t.co/ABB9NVRvHL?amp=1
And finally, another announcement. This will go live around midnight, but I have made the decision to end The Writer’s Journey podcast. I’ll share some of those reasons in a future video, but for those who are listening, just letting you know. Writing Tip of the Day will continue through the end of April and then I’m ending that too. I am serious about doubling down on YouTube, and I can’t do that if I don’t make some space for stuff.
I’ve been scaling back a lot of things in a lot of areas, actually. I’m also not taking on any additional opportunities right now. I’m focusing on the basics.
Life is an expand/contract cycle. For the last five years, I’ve been expanding. Now it’s time to start shrinking.
Don’t worry, I’m not shrinking because anything bad happened—it’s just the opposite. Finishing law school prompted me to start thinking about how I can make more room and reclaim even more of my time that will now be free after graduation. I’m trying to be more intentional about how I show up as an influencer. And that does mean sometimes that you have to make some hard decisions, but ultimately, it’s the best thing to do.
I’ve been hosting three podcasts and a YouTube channel, and barely treading water on all four. Time to condense and focus on one.
The Writer’s Journey went on for 3.5 years, and I podcasted every week without missing a single episode. I’m extremely grateful for those who listened and commented every week. The show will still be hosted and available for the foreseeable future for anyone who wants to listen to back episodes.
Anyway, I’m trying to be strict about my bedtime. Another 5AM day tomorrow.
