0 words, but a lot of progress today.
First and foremost, I kept my emails at bay.
Second, I hired alpha readers for the novel…………….even though it’s not done yet………………that means I just gave myself the proverbial kick in the ass that I need…………and I told them it would be ready next week………
Third, I made progress on this special project I’ve been working on and I’ll be done this weekend which should clear the decks for me.
Fifth, I hired an audio engineer to help me level up my sound quality for my new mic. He’s the same one who helped me engineer my audiobook narration settings, so I’m confident that we’ll get my recorded audio sounding great, which will be a fantastic way to start the year.
Sixth, I reconfigured my entire studio. I moved everything around and have a new setup. Maybe I’ll do a YouTube video on it.
But essentially:
#1: I have a microphone boom arm attached to my desk now, which makes it super easy to jump into a podcast episode, podcast interview, or dictate.
#2: I changed my YouTube background. That’s still a work in progress but I think it will look decent.
#3: I have a chair in my studio again, where I can watch videos and read books. That’s a win.
#4: Implemented better wire management. I have no wires on the floor anymore, and almost none on the desk. Almost everything is hidden, which is great.
#5: I got 99% of things off my basement floor, which has been bothering me for a while. This month marks the one-year anniversary of my studio flooding. I’m 90% of the way toward minimizing any damage in case it happens again. If my space flooded again, I’d only lose a surge protector, a (cheap) subwoofer, and a laptop charger. That’s not bad, but it’s not good enough.
Anyhoo, posting pictures on YouTube is increasingly more difficult these days, but here are pics:
Have a good night, and Happy Friday.
