I did something that should be against the law, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat…
I went to chiropractor, and on the way home, I decided to grab some lunch. I needed to be back home for an afternoon work meeting and I was running a little late, so I decided to stop somewhere.
I’m trying to make healthier choices, so I didn’t go to Taco Bell, or McDonald’s, or Chik-Fil-A…Besides, their drive thrus were packed…
So there was only one more place on the way home, which was a gas station. Bad, right???
Here’s the thing.
This gas station has pretty good sushi. (Sushi? At a gas station? In Iowa?????????)
I’d give the sushi a C. Not as good as sit-down restaurants in town, but not bad by any means if you lower your expectations. A Philadelphia roll is healthier than a hot dog on the rotisserie right next to it, so hey, I bought two rolls…
When I got home, I logged into my meeting and bit into the rolls and almost died.
The rice was OLD, the fish was mushy, and the crabmeat was lumpy. I’d be shocked if that sushi wasn’t on the shelf for several days.
Suffice to say I didn’t eat lunch.
I’ll stop there….but I did get my money back.
Anyhoo…I wrote 1142 words today, which wasn’t too bad. I should be done with the third section of the book tomorrow, which means that I’ll be squarely at the 50% mark. The manuscript is around 18,000 words, which will put the final target at around 36,000-40,000 words, though I may fall a little shorter than that.
All in all, a good day.
