2500 words today. I did better than my daily minimum and I broke 20K today, which is exciting. It feels good to be ahead of schedule. I’ll try to keep this momentum as I’m anticipating a possible near-miss on Saturday due to some things I’ve got going on. So if that happens, I’ll still hit my weekly quota of 13,000 words.

If I keep my current pace of 2,000 words a day (or better), I’m on track to hit the midpoint of the novel sometime on Saturday. That will put me at a finish sometime around Oct 16th. That means I need to keep pushing if I want to finish this by the end of Beast Mode. The good news is that I usually ramp up my speed significantly once I pass the midpoint (with this series), so I hope that will be true here too.

As I’ve said frequently, sure, the days where I hit high word counts of 3000+ are super exciting, but the truth (and secret) to writing is consistency. My entire writing career and prolific portfolio were built days exactly like this one, where I hit a steady cruising speed and got the words in. The words today are nothing crazy, but nothing to sneeze at either.

Anyhoo, I got nothing else for you today, other than I finished reading another book. That’s always a good writerly thing to do.

Tomorrow, I get the dictation book and editing book back from my proofreader, so I’ll be in a mad dash to publish some books starting tomorrow.

Have a good night.
