I’m making good progress on my quality checks for all my books. I’m into my 2016 books now, and 2016 shouldn’t take me too long as that was my least productive year on record (6 books).
I’m done with 17/66 books, so around 25% of my catalogue. After 2016, the checks get easier because 2017 or so was when I smarter about publishing. Using Vellum, developing better systems, etc. With my earlier books, I’m having to recreate everything from scratch. For example, some of my early books weren’t formatted in Vellum (because it wasn’t around yet) and I haven’t corrected that until now. Part of the reason my early books have been taking me so long is because I have had to reformat some of them. Wow…
I also got Indie Author Confidential Vol. 7 off to my editor, and she should have it back around Friday.
I also decided to do a cover facelift for my book, Interactive Fiction. It’s technically part of my Author Level Up series, but the cover has been different and I haven’t done anything with it until now. The new cover should be ready next week.
I was reviewing Interactive Fiction and was pretty pleased with how little it has aged. It’s still pretty accurate. I corrected some typos and adjusted some minor formatting quirks here and there. New version will go up some time next week.
I’m also taking the opportunity to do compilations of entire series where possible, and I’m getting those into hardcover. I put in orders for the Moderation Online series and Android X series today and hope to have those soon.
In any case, this is a super, super comprehensive review of all my books that, so far is going pretty well. I’m aiming to be done by Thanksgiving so at this pace, I should get there.
