More QA today. I’m approximately 20% of the way through my portfolio. It takes me anywhere from 45-min to 90 minutes per book, depending on how complicated it is (ie. How many formats exist). I’m almost all the way through my 2015 books, and after tomorrow I should be done with them completely.
Very, very tedious, but man, I’ll be in such a great place when I’m done with this that it won’t even be funny.
The end result I’m aiming for:
- All of my books are thoroughly documented and recorded in a master publishing file in case there are every questions.
- All of my books have unified pricing
- All of my books have the CORRECT version and book description published (I can tell what version of a book/book description is published because I put this on my sales page and in my copyright page. Very, very useful in helping me determine if changes have been published on a retailer or not)
- All of my books are distributed to as many places as possible
- Some point in 2022 or 2023, I’ll be ready to redesign Authorlevelup.com and michaellaronn.com. I’ll be able to use the master publishing file to populate my book pages. One of the things that has kept me from redoing my website is the fear of having to redo all my book pages manually. With this file, I can give it to a designer and they can use it to populate links and even book descriptions. This way, I won’t have to do any data entry. It’ll save an incredible amount of time.
Anyway, I need to get back to writing, but this is pretty important. If I keep at my current pace, I should be done before Thanksgiving. I really don’t want to be doing this over the holidays, so I’m working as fast as I can.
Have a good night.
