1000 words. I won my battle last night with the raccoons…We’ll see if it works long term.
The raccoons were looking for grubs (which is a problem in and of itself)…so I put grub treatment down. I don’t normally have a grub problem, so the raccoons were technically doing me a favor and sending me an early warning. Not uncommon with grass in the summer. We did have a lot of beetles last year so that makes sense.
I put netting over the sod and staked it down. Then I sprayed the grass with a mixture of dish soap, water, and cayenne pepper. Apparently raccoons don’t like that.
No damage this morning.
Even better, I verified that the raccoons came back about 2AM last night. I watched them wander around, and then skedaddle.
“Oh, so the guy got smart.”
“Challenge accepted, dude. We’ll be back tomorrow.”
“Yeah, and you ain’t gonna like it!”
“Come on, hang, let’s go kick over someone’s trash can.”
So my yard is damage free. Today. Tomorrow? We’ll see, but I’ll take any victory I can get!
In other news, I got a very nice review from a subscriber Andrew Casey at Hypersanity Books who read Books 1-3 of my Galaxy Mavericks series. Here is the link: https://twitter.com/hypersanity123/status/1404954985926860801?s=21
It’s not every day you get a video review. Pretty cool!
Next, I got Indie Author Confidential Vol 5 and my Idea Book (now officially titled, Authors, Steal This Book) off to my cover designer. ETA is Friday night, so Patrons will likely get both books Friday night or Saturday morning, with everything being officially for sale sometime Monday or Tuesday depending on how long it takes retailers to stock them.
My patrons also officially voted on my first Beast Mode book: it will be about writing apps!! Now I just have to figure out what I’m going to write LOL
I also wrote 1000 words toward Vol. 6 of Indie Author Confidential to get a jump on it.
Finally, I started working on another loose end—self editing 250+ Writing Tips, Vol. 2. It’s been sitting on my hard drive since Feb and I need to push it out. My goal is to publish before July 4th.
Anyhoo, a pretty good day today. Have a good night.
