200 words. I was surprisingly tired today, although maybe that shouldn’t have been a surprise. 🙂
Anyway, I had some breakthroughs today. Even though I only wrote 200 words, I figured out the source of the “logjam” in the book. When I was traveling, I overwrote one of my scenes. I went about 100 words too far and discovered I needed to backtrack to give Lester something. Now that he has it, I’m feeling really good about picking up momentum. We’ll see. My Lester novels take their time.
I also provided some final feedback to the designer for Project Atlas. I should be able to publish Project Atlas Monday or Tuesday now. Fingers crossed. I’ll probably end up publishing Project Atlas and Project Bestiary at the same time.
Anyhow, time for a recap of what I accomplished on the trip:
Goal #1 was to remain at inbox zero. I did that on all but one of the days. I arrived home with zero emails in my inbox, which was a major accomplishment.
Goal #2 was to maintain my current schedule of content. That also worked. I didn’t miss any YouTube, podcast, or blog content.
Goal #3 was to write 5,000 words toward my novel. That didn’t happen. I only write about 750. The main reason was because I didn’t have as much downtime as I thought, and I spent most of the trip with family. So I don’t feel bad in the slightest about missing my word count.
Word counts are arbitrary, anyway. I’ve had vacations where I expected to write 0 words and ended up writing several thousand, so you never know.
In addition to those goals, I also published 2 books while I was on the road. I also received an edited book and 2 book covers while traveling, and I ordered 1 book cover as well.
I also shot a lot of footage for a vlog video I’m doing on the channel that will cover my travels. Should debut in a few weeks.
Overall, the trip was very, very successful for my productivity. While I didn’t get many words in, I kept a lot of things moving down the conveyor belt, so to speak. And after a day of rest today, I can start my morning routine and finish the last two weeks of beast mode strongly I hope.
Anyway, I’m back, and beast mode continues. Onward!
