1000 words today.

Woke up early this morning again, which felt good. I did some work for ALLi because we’re launching a new membership, so I had some paperwork to do.

Bought a Cat Rambo course on immersing readers in the world of your work. I’m looking forward to this because it’ll help me get back into the fiction mindset. Cat is a writer cut from the same cloth as Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch—long-time award-winning writer who definitely has the knowledge. There are some other great courses on Cat Rambo Academy. No affiliate links, just sharing in case folks are interested.

Cleared out comments on my YouTube channel—responded to about 100. That felt good.

Every October, I start thinking about my goals for the coming year. 2020 has been so difficult to plan that I may honestly skip goal setting this year. Not even worth it. However, my budget is fair game.

Since I hit my goals early today, I spent some time doing strategy. What will my budget be for 2021? How much can I spend, how much might I make, and how will I allocate my expenses? At this point I don't feel comfortable increasing my budget. 2021 may be just as rocky as 2020 so it makes sense to sit on more cash if you can.

This was also an opportunity to think about the projects I'm going to work on next year. One will finally be investing in a standing desk.

Anyway, my budget is tentatively set, and I'll be able to finalize it in January.

I kicked serious butt today.
