1561 words today. Man, I’m failing this challenge gracefully. 🙂
All’s good though. Had some family stuff come up that distracted my attention for most of the day. That said, the chapter I did write (Chapter 6) took the story in a direction I didn’t expect. This novel will definitely be one of the more dramatic novels I’ve written in a while.
At first, I wondered if I was setting myself up for trouble by telling it in the 3rd person. Most urban fantasy is told in the first person. But boy am I glad I made that decision—it’s letting me do some crazy stuff POV-wise.
Also, the story is cruising along. I’m feeling good about it so far. The good news is that I broke 10K today, which is always a good milestone.
Anyway, the challenge is likely a bust right now, but I’m hanging in there. I’ll see it through even if I fail at it.
Instead of asking “how can I get to 50K before March 4th”, I’m now asking “how far CAN I get?”
We’ll see where I end up. Tomorrow is a new day.
