5600 words today. YESSIR, BABY!!!
THAT’S exactly the kind of day I needed for Beast Mode, son!
Honestly, I killed it today, which felt really, really good.
I started off getting words on my phone, then switched to dictation, which netted me about 2000 words, and then I did the rest on both my computer and my phone. I couldn’t have asked for a better day, and I finished two chapters today.
I still can’t quite see the ending yet, but a lot of stuff is starting to lead up to the final battle. I still don’t know how long this novel will be, but it will definitely land somewhere between 50K and 60K, which is good because the first novel is 60K even.
There is still a lot that has to happen before the final battle. The pacing is picking up and I’m switching POVs a lot faster, which is always a sign that I’m ramping up to the final battle. I can’t even see the final battle yet, though I have an inkling of where I might be headed.
I’m at a nice cruising speed and I plan on doing some more words before bed, so I’ll probably be north of 6,000 before the night is over.
I’m currently sitting at 46,057 words. Amazing how quickly the 40K words flew compared to the 30K ones.
Tomorrow’s a work day unfortunately but if I’m diligent, I’ll consider it a stellar day if I can get north of 3,500 words, which would be put me close or right at 50K. That may not happen, but I’m sure going to try.
I originally said I would open voting once I reached 50K. Depending on how tomorrow goes and how close I am to a “glimmer” of the ending, I may wait until closer to 52-55K.
Anyway, today was a good day. Hope all of you had a good writing day as well.
